Our next general meeting will be at Proctor Blackwoods, Tuesday November 1st @6:00 pm. Bob Schmidt from Inver Grove Parts Sales will sponsor the evenings meal, and our topic will be voting for Board Members.

Tuesday May 3 General Meeting Dinner @6:00

Proctor Blackwoods on May 3rd will be the last GENERAL meeting until the fall schedule. AASP will be conducting a seminar on "How to understand & reduce the costs of credit card processing". Not to worry its not a sales pitch. They will go over ways to SAVE MONEY on your credit card processing, and rules and responsibilities of businesses that accept plastic.
Kadingers will be our dinner sponsor.

I CAR Training

I CAR presented another training session last night @ Proctor Blackwoods. Not a very big turnout though, which was suprising due to the fact that everyone working in any I CAR shop needed the class. It was the Hazardous Waste and Personal and Refinish Safety course thats necessary for anyone striving for Platinum classification. I CAR and State Farm insurance have been working together to get classes to our area so we dont have to travel to the cities. Faxes are sent to local shops with training schedules, so Im not sure why the low attendance. Any input would be greatly appreciated on solutions to this problem.

I CAR classes

There are 2 upcoming I Car classes to be held at Proctor Blackwoods. March 10 will be Inspecting Repairs for Quality Control, and April 14 is Hazardous materials, Personal Safety, and Refinish Safety. For more information and to pre register go to the I CAR website.

General Meeting March 1st @ Proctor Blackwoods

2010 paid member Holiday Party

Party is at Black Bear Casino again this year. Cocktail hour starts at 6 with dinner at 7:30, followed by a fabulous door prise giveaway. Hope to see everyone there.

January 2011 General Meeting

Well we started off 2011 with a bang. Great meeting full of important information from Judell with AASP about the upcoming legislative session, and Keith Risley with I Car.
AASP is currently looking at 3 important issues for body shops. They're looking at how to better evaluate threshold's for salvage vehicles. They're going to pursue shifting sales tax from point of sale to paint and materials on estimates, and at this point instead of licensing auto body facilities, do a "shop registration" with a possible $50 every 2 year fee. If anyone wants more info on any of these legislative items, check the AASP website or start coming to meetings!
Keith Risley with I Car addressed the groups comments and concerns about the I Car program. He explained in detail their pricing as well as big changes in the way I Car is doing business and updating their training programs. By the time he was done, everyone had a new found respect and understanding of I Car, as well as a much greater interest in getting classes to the Northland. Keith will evaluate the training records of local technicians to see what classed would best benefit our local member shops.
