Board Meeting Tuesday 12/3

This months board meeting will include both 2013 members as well as the newly appointed for 2014 members. Meeting will be held at the Drydock on the Midway Road at 5:30 with dinner at 6.

New Board Members for 2014

Decent turnout at Proctor Blackwoods for the 2014 voting process. Denny Checkalski from Kadingers Auto Salvage was voted in as Chairman with Rick Dunbar taking the Co Chair position. George Eisenman, Todd Nordwall, and Micky Sternberg will fill the 3 board positions. Jody is retiring and Jack Oswell along with Tim from Custom Coach will take the Treasurer and Secretary positions. I think Tim will keep everyone informed through emails so this blog probably wont be updated after today. Its been a pleasure serving on the board these last 10 years.
The Holiday Party will be Friday, January 17. Tim will pass along details as they become available.  

Affordable Care Act Workshop

AASP will hold an event for those of you that would like more information on the new insurance mandate. AASP members will get a break in pricing at $50.00 per person and $10.00 for additional attendees from each shop. Non members will pay $75.00 and $10.00 for any additional people. The seminar will be held at the Canal Park Lodge  Thursday, November 21st @ 9:00am -11:00am

 The August board meeting schedule found to many board members on vacation and unable to attend. We moved the board meeting to the September meeting date and realized that was the Labor Day Holiday time and we've had poor attendance in years past so moved both meetings to September 10.

July 1 2013 NEW TAX LAWS

As all of you must know by now, July 1st starts a new way of calculating takes for our industry. My suggestion would be to discuss the new laws with your paint supplier as they now have the burden of determining what purchases they're going to tax repair facilities on. There is  information on the MN Dept. of Revenue site. Don't forget to turn on the TAX PAINT/MATERIALS in your estimating system. Another change this year is the Hazardous Waste Generator license application. They will all be done on line this year at the MPCA website http://cf.pcs.state.mn.us/wastelicenseapplication they are due August 7, 2013
